My dad used to have this glass prism with his name on it sitting on his desk at work. Whenever I was in his office I would play with it, flashing it around to catch the sunlight and form rainbows. Now it sits on the south-facing window ledge of my home office. I like watching the sun throughout the seasons change the location of the rainbows. They splash across the floor and walls, appearing in different spots as the sun moves. Rainbows are on my mind on this inauguration eve.
Also, lotteries, because currently these two have big payouts. Yeah, I know, the lottery is a tax on people who are bad at math. I may be bad at math but I also know that someone has to win, and you can’t win if you don’t play. And, some of you may be thanking me if I do win.
