Today we packed up about 90% of Mom’s apartment. Thankfully, this isn’t our first rodeo; we’ve had three previous opportunities to downsize, so there isn’t much left. One of my sisters wanted Mom’s dishes, so I packed them to ship to her. When my other sister (here packing up Mom also) took them to UPS to ship, and told dish sister the price, she said no way. The cost was astronomical. So packing sister mentioned to the young gal behind the UPS counter that we weren’t going to ship the dishes after all. The young gal said she was about to get married and they were looking for dishes (but not at all expecting what happened next). Shipping sister asked her if she wanted the dishes we were hoping to get rid of. Apparently, she was shocked and delighted. Good day for everyone involved.
